A Chairman Message

Greetings,

When we first started Concord Community Organization (CCO), back in July of 2015, I really didn’t want a lot of media attention or fanfare. I insisted that there be no press release or calls to the media to get reporters to cover the story or the movement. This was intentional and deliberate. First and foremost, I didn’t want to be guilty of self-promotion or profiting from someone else’s pain.  CCO had to be about the community and not about me. So I had to check my motives and flee from the very appearance of that evil.

Now almost 3 years later, I still feel the same way.

Since July 2015 CCO has made great progress. CCO has been able to achieve the following:

  • Annual Woodlawn Community Back to School Health Festival equipping our children with school supplies and health services.
  • Distributed over 5000 food baskets during Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Sent relief efforts to hurricane victims in Texas and Puerto Rico
  • Help ex-offenders successfully re-enter into society

I am so proud of the work that CCO is doing in the Woodlawn community, in the city of Chicago and in the world.

We are at a very critical time in the life of CCO.  We need your help.  I solicit your participation and financial support.

Thank you.
